Bruno Guimaraes might have been sold to Olympique Lyon.

Bruno Guimaraes playing for Athletico Paranaense

Several different media outlets have reported that Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes was sold to Olympique Lyon.  No information has been given about the amount of money paid by the French club to Athletico Paranaense for the Brazilian star.

Bruno is currently playing for Brazil national team at the U23 Pre-Olympic tournament taking place in Colombia and has stood out as one of the best players in the tournament. After giving an unforgettable performance in Brazil’s debut against Peru, rumours of the negotiations between several top notch European clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea and Bruno’s club Athletico Paranaense started spreading all over the world.

Yesterday there was news that Atletico Madrid had equaled Olympique Lyon’s offer, which seems to have been confirmed the same day by Olympique Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas’ twit stating one of the contract clauses signed between Atletico Madrid and Athletico Paranaense after Lodi’s transfer might be illegal. Here’s a translation of what he twitted “The clause between the two Atleticos seems to be contrary to Fifa’s regulations and its 83.1 Fifa regulation”

However, on Athletico Paranaense’s official website there is no mention of the transfer yet. So far it is unknown whether the transaction has been completed, what is known for sure is that many of the best football “soccer” clubs out there are after the Brazilian star.
